Having a Professional Photographer is the best Investment you can make on your Wedding Day.
You only do it once!
Choosing the right photographer for your day is an important decision and an investment. Your wedding day is one of the only events in your life you do not re-do! I know that you will be spending more on this one day, then you will probably be spending on any other one day of your entire life. So, you want to make sure you have a photographer there that knows what needs to be done, can anticipate thing before they happen and will be able to capture those special moments that only happen once. Having those memories, you can look back on and laugh, smile and if you are like me cry a little.
Not only do you want your photographs to be beautiful, but you also need to be able to feel comfortable with your photographer. Someone who you feel relaxed, at ease with and someone you can trust. So, chatting about your big day, what you want from the photography and meeting with your photographer is especially important.
“Its not just one day, it is a lifetime of memories”
Things to Consider When Choosing a Photographer
Budget-
This is something you need to think about early on. The cost of a professional wedding photographer can be anything from £1000 to £5000 (depending on the hours you require them for).
This many seem like a lot of money, but it is an Investment. I also hate to say but you get what you pay for! It is not over for a photographer at the end of your wedding. There is the post-processing and editing of your photos and takes a significant amount of time. Even more so if the photographer is producing an album, which they create and design the layouts.
Find your style
If you look online, you will find lots of different styles of photography. Once you have found the style you like and a photographer you like its important to look at their work and albums they have. You should be looking for consistency and high quality throughout their work.
Don’t leave it until the last minute.
Photographers book up quickly and most book up at least a year in advance. So, when you have your venue booked, I recommend booking the photographer next.
The Mistakes you do not want to make!
Quick Decision
Planning a wedding can sometimes be stressful and in the end, you just want to get things booked and done. Please do not just book any photographer, take the time to find one you love.
Great they are cheap!
Its important not to get carried away with just looking at the amount that a photographer is including in a package, you may be getting an engagement shoot, 10 hours coverage, a big album and two photographers all for under £800, but you should be thinking “why”. Look at the quality of the work that is the most important thing. Get example of albums they have produced, meet them, read review from other couples that have used them for there wedding.
I know someone with a camera!
Wedding photography is more then just a good camera. Its experience, skill, and knowledge. You may have family or friends that enjoy photography as a hobby, but shooting a wedding is not the same as shooting landscapes or photographing your family on a day out. Weddings are fast moving, and you are constantly having to adapt to different surrounding.
I have said previously, you only get one chance. So, it is important to make the right decision. Having a friend, family member or student with a camera who have not photographed a wedding before rarely results in happy couples on the day they receive their images.
I understand that not everyone can afford the photographer they want or have a big budget, but I would always suggest making sacrifices in other ways. Maybe having a smaller package or having your photographer for less hours. This way you can still get those beautiful photos at a price you can afford.
I hope this Information has helped
